Please be sure to read the AFC Rules below.

Rules for Members on Gym Safety and Hygiene

By visiting the AFC you are agreeing to the following rules

You must:

– Pay attention to the most up-to-date guidelines established by the AFC. Failure to comply with these may result in temporary or permanent expulsion from Almada Fitness Center;

– Clean the equipment after use with the cleaning products provided. Several cleaning stations are available in the gym for your use;

– Always take a towel and exclusive shoes to the gym so you can do your training.

By not complying with these rules, you will not be able to start or continue your training.


General gym rules

– Always carry your membership card and present it at reception so you can start your daily training;

– Make the payment of the monthly fee corresponding to your plan by the 5th of each month, failing to meet the established deadline may incur a fine;

– If you are not sure how to use any equipment, you should seek advice from a qualified member of the AFC team before using it;

– For safety reasons, bags are not allowed on the gym floor and proper clothing must be worn while exercising i.e. suitable and comfortable training clothes and appropriate footwear. Clothing such as jeans, boots, flip flops/sandals or work clothes is not permitted. Any member who does not have adequate equipment may be asked not to start or finish their training;

– You cannot use the gym while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, tranquilizers or any medication or other substance that could affect your ability to exercise safely. The AFC reserves the right to remove you from the premises if it is reasonably believed that you are unfit to use the premises;

– Make sure you put the weights you used back in their original place when finished, otherwise it may result in your membership being cancelled;

– Please do not misuse the weights by dropping them on the floor, otherwise your membership may be terminated;

– Please do not take photos/videos on the premises or post comments on the internet that could identify another member;

– You may not behave in an aggressive, abusive, anti-social or threatening manner towards any employee or member, anyone who does so will have their membership terminated immediately and Almada Fitness Center reserves the right to contact the Police, if deemed necessary;

– Only AFC Instructors and Personal Trainers are authorized to train members in the Gym, unless express written permission is granted from the AFC general management. Anyone else conducting member training will be asked to leave the premises immediately;

– Members are solely responsible for their own belongings while visiting the AFC. AFC is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property;

– Members are asked to use the lockers only during the training session. Lockers will be emptied in the evening and member belongings removed for lost belongings. Padlocks can be broken to gain access and will not be replaced by the AFC;

While we strive to return any lost items to the owner, we are not responsible for items kept in lost belongings. These belongings will be held until claimed, but for no more than one week after which the belongings will either be donated to charity or destroyed. Valuable belongings will be handed over to the local Police;

– Members must inform the AFC of any changes in contact and email address or phone numbers. These changes can be made via email or in person; By accessing the gym and using the gym’s equipment, members are deemed to have read and understood the membership terms and conditions;

– Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is strictly prohibited in all areas of the gym. Any member found to be in violation of this rule may be terminated from membership;

– Members may not bring any pets (with the exception of guide dogs) into the gym.


Class booking rules

– Members must arrive promptly for class start times, late arrival may result in being refused entry to class. We suggest that you arrive 5 minutes in advance;

– Members are recommended to book in advance to ensure the class has available space.
